The most comprehensive website covering almost all essential details which I have found on other sites moreover plenty of information which I have not got from other sites or books. Personally I feel rejuvenated of my religion and ethics. Why cant these made a subject in schools? Why not we Hindus take pride in ourselves?
My best wishes to carry this service to Hinduism.

Excellent site, made me feel proud about being a Hindu. The unopinionated nature of the site must be pointed out . It is a real eye opener, more so for us the Hindus, of our prodigious past and our majestic roots and at the same time our humbleness. I hope the same golden age returns for the good of the world.
Incidentally, I would like to point out that the art of "cloning" was known to the Kuru dynasty and there is mention of some kind of a container to split the embryos , which could only have been an incubator ( in modern biotechnological terms). This is believed to be the source of 100 sons of Gandhari (clones , split froma single embryo), as no human female is capable of conceiving 100 times(or so) and each time have a successful delivery. So the Ancient Hindus knew the "Cell Theory"!! Pity they did not have a "Nature" magazine to publish in!!

Very exhaustive and thouroughly prepared contents. But at certain places there has been an unnecessary effort to correlate all the findings of the west with the those in Hindu scriptures. For eg: The evolution theory. No hindu scripture supports it. Dasavatharam does not represent theory of evolution. According to the famous Srimad Bhagavatha purana, Varaha avatar is the first avatar and not matsya avatar. So, the evolution theory has no ground or foundation in any of our ancient scriptures. Moreover the contents at some places have to edited further for correctness. Overall a good site which sheds light on ancient India.

This is wonderful endeavor to put the facts in place. Our history and facts have been battered more brutally by invaders than our lives and souls. It calls for a great effort to put the facts in place and let the coming generation of our country know what great a culture they belong to. Lots of people are doing this work, who will never come to light. We need more collective efforts from our Archeologists, Historians and Media to work on this with zeal.
Some suggestions:
1. I too like red colour but I agree with one of the entry that you should avoid using RED colour as this represents is very strong emotions and is not comfortable to eyes. Probably a blue font or a yellow highlight can be good idea.
2. Add some topics on Prehistoric India i.e. new discoveries on Human establishments dating back to 30,000 years to 100,000 years. I am sure this will better support the fact that our culture and values has flourished with time.

The site is very informative. But I would like to suggest a few things.
The red colour is the font is not pleasant for eyes. Instead of that, some light colour like blue can be used. Also it's very vast, so please divide it into more logical chapters.

Thank you soooooooo much for this web site. I am a practicing Hindu and have been called upon by my anthropology class to do a report on the Hindu culture. The text that we use in the class is a copyrighted 2000 collection of things from the 1800 to the 1980's. So many discoveries and acknowledgements of Hindu culture has happened since then. I wanted to write a report on how the culture practiced in India today is different from ancient India, and how it is different and most importantly WHY. Textbooks don’t like to say people were so much more humane around the world before British colonialism. I wish there was a site like this about African culture that I could draw off of.

WOW. Awesome!!! Fantastic, Superb.
It is hard to believe that this was an achievement of a single person and out of personal interest, service and hobby. This site is fit to be a Ph.d thesis or even more a literature that will be cherished and revered forever.
My personal compliments and regards for this great achievement.
Needless to say you have done a great service to mankind by bringing out the right perspective of Hinduism, as it is known today and hopefully this will be a catalyst to inspire the great minds out in the universe to rise above the human imposed boundaries of religion and awaken to the one truth, The ekam Sat, that will ring peace happiness and prosperity to all mankind.
Sushama, I wish you success in your endeavours and may Ganesha bless you.

If you look at things from a non imperialistic, superiority complex driven perspective the truth will eventually out. Another good site with a wealth of information that should not be ignored is: http://www.megrisoft.com/ because of its network about india.

My My My!!! What a site! Pity that I came across it by accident. I have yet to go thru fully, but I couldn't help but noting in the guest book. I wish each and everyone Indian, irrespective of their religious affiliation, to go thru your site and understand it’s meaning. I wish you should mark it all VHP, RSS and Bajrang Dal leaders. They will do a great service by teaching the rich Indian tradition and about the REAL Hinduism. It is a shame on us that our children are not able to grasp this.
a small gesture (the least i can do right now) from me is to recommend ur site to all my friends. God Bless you to do more research and enlighten all of us.
I will write to u later, after going through ur site fully.

Dear Sushamaji,
Even though I am yet to completely go through the site, the data collection and the systematic arrangement of the same is just great.
Very soon when we are able to recognise the real colours of people,
we shall truly value the Supreme Court of India's ruling that Hinduism
is a way of life rather than an organised religion as being potrayed.
Your site shall go a long way in correcting many misconceptions which
many people have. My suggestions shall reach you after a thorough study
of the site is over.
With Light and Love,
Alex Varghese.

The 'war'...I think it is more like murder should be stopped before we plunge into darkness. I do not believe the false doctines of judaism, christianity and islam have anything to offer humanity as a whole. .... As money is more important to people now a days, should we strike at the root cause of evil?
I think answers can be found in sanatana dharma but only for those who are objective and clear headed.
Keep up the good work.

I come to this site often to enrich my knowledge. It is a great source of inspiration. I do hope others will benefit but I sincerely feel that it will be a long time coming. I recently had a converstaion with a Indian friend who was talking about the marriage of a relative. I asked for description of the male party and her first word was 'fair' ...apparently he was very very fair and as was the bride they would 'look good together'. All the other superlatives followed later.
This is a sad reflection of the Indian diaspora in the west but a true one.

Namaste,
I just wanted to say that I am a scientist working on the field of theatre and film dramaturgy - I was researching the last two years on Natyasastra - the holy knowledge of theatre and dance as given from Lord Brahmadeva to Bharatamuni - and I enjoyed your page very much!!
It is clear, well structured, offers a deep insight into the Sacred culture of India plus gives a wide range of sources and links.
Although I am an European scientist I am a great admirer of Bharat Mata, Mother India. I am truly convinced that time will show that India is the primordial culture, the source of all civilisations, cultures, languages, arts and sciences, that Sanskrit is the primordial language, the Vedas the primordial knowledge, and India not only the Mother of Indians but of mankind.
I realized long time ago that the myth of Greece as source of theatre, medicine, philosophy, mathematics etc. is nothing else than a subtle form of imperialism and racism because it was hard for the Western childish Ego to give the appropriate respect to its own Mother.
The excavations in Dwarka were an important step in the process of setting things right. I found the kind of tribute European scholars were giving to the Ramayana and the Mahabharata always most cruel. The Ramayana and Mahabharata are the reports of the miracle of God becoming human. This is their unique quality. But Western scholars were praising these two works always as aesthetically absolutely interesting fairy tales. But that would be like telling a devoted Christian that the New Testament is really a very interesting piece of literature, and that, by the way, Jesus Christ of course never lived.
I feel that we are now entering a time were religion and science get agian integrated into each other and that west and east should now - as rabindranath tagore formulated it in his philosophic work sadhana - perform the marriage of humanity.

I read this article on the BBC website with disbelief. What is happening in India when Hindus cannot express themselves ?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/2743881.stm
There needs to be discernment between what is right and what is wrong. Would you find the reverse hapeening in Islamic countries ? Highly unlikely, in fact would you be allowed to live in peace in these countries ? How about banning the cross because of the Ku Klux Klan?

Ladies and Gentleman, we are indebted to our friend Sushma for bringing us together in this forum. After my first posting with regards to creating a TV series on the Impact of Ancient India on the modern world, I have received quite a few emails with offers of help and suggestions. Too all of you I thank you.
Now it is a time to take a stand. Are we happy with the way the Hindus and the religion is represented in the world's press? Are we going to stand around and watch the western media print and broadcast one sided rubbish about our great religion to the great unwashed? Are we so tolerant (weak) that we sit by and do nothing but talk?
